Hi, I’m Sarah Beth, the maker behind Knucklebone Forge. I create handmade epoxy resin dice sets, chess sets, dominoes, runes, tic-tac-toe games, coasters, bookmarks, and keychains from my home studio in Springfield, Oregon.
My work lives where the celestial meets the herbal: deep navy blues, glints of gold, suspended dried flowers, and tiny symbols of the moon, sun, and stars. Each piece is designed to feel like something you’d find in a wandering witch’s pack or a stargazer’s study.
Why “Knucklebone”?
Long before dice were tumbled from plastic, players cast knucklebones — small ankle bones used as the earliest gaming pieces across the ancient world. The name is a nod to that lineage: we’ve been gathering around tables to roll our fates for thousands of years, and the objects we play with deserve to feel like heirlooms.
How It’s Made
Every piece is poured, cured, and finished by hand, one small batch at a time. That means small variations, occasional happy accidents, and no two pieces are exactly alike. I use quality products, and I take real care with the finishing: sanding, polishing, and balancing every set so it feels as good in your hand as it looks on the table.
A Little About Me
When I’m not in the studio, you can find me curled up with a romantasy novel — or attempting to write one of my own. I started Knucklebone Forge because I needed a creative outlet that let me work with my hands, and it’s grown into something I’m endlessly grateful for.
